According to Su, the communications industry often moves in tandem with local economy. Telecommunications operators should seize the opportunity brought by local development and increase their spending in infrastructure, helping Zhanjiang to become a core city in Beibu Gulf.

Jian Qin, general manager of China Mobile Guangdong Branch, said the company will invest more in the city.
